Open Daily 9-6 Hi folks! Happy Fourth of July weekend! The next few days are going to be a little sparse in the berry department. PYO is CLOSED. All this wet weather has been kinda tough on the berries. We won't be bringing in too many more strawberries to the store, simply because they are going by and we have so many other big things to concentrate on. Even the raspberries do NOT appreciate being pelted with drenching rains day after day, so we are only picking them in small amounts to avoid the rot that happens so quickly in the humidity. We have to close the public picking temporarily in order to let the berries regain some momentum. However! Sweet and Tart cherries are now available daily in the store. And! The season's offerings from the garden are growing every day. We've got arugula, salad greens, cherry and sungold tomatoes, big tomatoes (juicy and fleshy and earthy and yes, they're real...), swiss chard, garlic scapes (the little curly green ends of the garlic plant - a subtle garlicky flavor) and scallions. Radishes, beets, sugar snap peas, and summer squash are in, and so much more bounty is about to pop any day.
Ready for dessert? Come and get it. Strawberry Rhubarb pies, Blueberry cobblers, and what? You haven't eaten a strawberry-blueberry muffin top the size of Nevada before? Well, get in here. New things: crostini (we're told they are perfect), bruschetta, the sensible muffin, just to name a few. Incidentally, the basil pesto and 3-herb pesto, salsa, bruschetta, and caprese are made fresh with our own herbs and veggies. Speaking of veggies: Veggie wraps are made daily! (Think healthy-yet-indulgent convenient sandwich-cum-hummus vehicle, if you can think that many thinks). Cider donuts, apple pies, rollups, scones, muffin tops, and the usual lineup of delectables are also here to tempt you.
What else? In sum: annuals, perennials, herbs, baskets, bags, bottles, seeds, catnip, wine, cider pops, popcorn, bottle toppers, newspapers, cheese, mugs, books, maps, tshirts, sweatshirts, undershirts, applesauce, honey, maple syrup, teas, coffees, baby gifts, ice cream, soup mix, penny candy, jams and jellies, apple butter, eggs, garlic, spices, lunch boxes, vinegars, fudge, and a lot more.
WHAT'S HOT: Reusable cotton bags (with our pretty logo of course!) WHAT'S NOT: Polypropylene shopping bags (that's a big word for plasticky plastic.) WHAT'S HOT: Arugula, chevre and walnut salad tossed with balsamic vinaigrette. WHAT'S NOT: Hearts of Romaine trucked in from Cali.
